Group FP&A Manager – 12 month fixed term
Turn the numbers into decisions. Shape the next stage of ZIWI’s growth.
ZIWI is growing fast — globally. As one of New Zealand’s most successful pet food exporters and the global leader in air-dried pet nutrition, we’re building an ambitious, high-performing business with big plans for the future.
We’re looking for an experienced Group FP&A Manager who can go beyond the numbers — someone commercially astute who enjoys getting under the skin of the business, challenging thinking and turning financial insight into better decisions.
Reporting to the Global Head of Commercial Finance, you’ll have genuine Group-wide influence, partnering with senior leaders across ZIWI to drive performance, profitability and smarter investment.
You’ll be at the centre of how we understand and manage the performance of the Group. You’ll be leading the Group’s forecasting, budgeting and financial planning cycle, bringing together P&L, balance sheet and cash flow perspectives across our global operations. But importantly, you’ll also help answer the questions behind the numbers.
Working closely with leaders across functions including Finance, HR, IT and Legal, you will provide the commercial insight they need to make confident decisions.
What you’ll be responsible for
Lead weekly flash, monthly estimates, quarterly forecasts and annual budgets across the Group
Oversee Group-level consolidation and ensure consistent planning assumptions and methodologies
Own Group SG&A performance, identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency
Develop sophisticated financial models, scenarios and analysis to support strategic decisions
Provide insightful management reporting and commentary to executive leadership
Track and challenge performance across P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
Develop meaningful KPIs and turn performance data into clear actions
Partner with senior stakeholders on business cases, investment decisions and strategic initiatives
Assess the financial viability of new products, projects and expansion opportunities
Support Board, investor, banking and senior leadership reporting
Identify opportunities to improve FP&A processes, systems, reporting and analytics
Work closely with the wider Finance team to ensure a single, accurate view of Group performance
What we’re looking for
You’ll be an experienced finance professional with a strong FP&A background and the commercial confidence to operate at a senior level.
You’ll bring:
Significant experience in FP&A, commercial finance or a similar strategic finance role
Strong financial modelling, forecasting and analytical capability
Experience working across a complex, multi-entity or international organisation
A strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
The ability to move comfortably between detailed analysis and the bigger commercial picture
Excellent business partnering skills and the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders
A naturally curious mindset — you want to understand why the numbers are moving, not simply report that they have
The ability to turn complex financial information into clear, practical recommendations
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence without relying on hierarchy
A continuous improvement mindset, with an appetite for better systems, processes and ways of working
Why ZIWI?
Because this is an opportunity to have a real impact.
You’ll join a global business in an exciting phase of growth, working alongside leaders who want Finance to be a genuine commercial partner — not simply the team that reports on what has already happened.
You’ll have visibility across the Group, exposure to senior decision-makers and the opportunity to influence everything from cost efficiency and investment decisions to strategic growth initiatives.
If you’re an experienced finance professional who gets energised by commercial problem-solving, strategic thinking and making a measurable difference, we’d love to hear from you.
