Retail Store Trainer

Job Summary:
We are looking for an engaging and knowledgeable Retail Store Trainer to lead the education and training of retail staff on our company’s products who lives in Chicago, Denver or Dallas.
This is a traveling role, travel will be up to 3 weeks a month.
This role is critical in ensuring that our teams are well-versed in product features, benefits, use cases, and brand positioning, enabling them to deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive sales performance. The ideal candidate is passionate about both learning and teaching, and thrives in a retail-focused, customer-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-store and virtual product training sessions to new hires and existing store employees, ensuring deep product knowledge and confidence in selling.
- Educate retail staff on product features, benefits, competitive differentiators, and customer use cases.
- Collaborate with ZIWI marketing and ZIWI sales teams to stay current on new product launches and updates.
- Provide feedback on the development of engaging product training materials, such as quick reference guides, videos, demos, and hands-on learning experiences.
- Train store teams on how to effectively communicate product value to customers through demonstrations, storytelling, and consultative selling techniques.
- Serve as a product expert and go-to resource for store staff, answering questions and providing ongoing support.
- Monitor training effectiveness and adjust content or approach based on feedback and performance metrics.
- Support new store openings, seasonal ramp-ups, and key product launches with tailored training support.
- Foster a culture of enthusiasm and pride around the brand and its products.
- Conduct store trainings with distributor sales representatives to support product education and relationship-building at retail locations.
- Travel up to 3 weeks per month throughout the U.S. and Canada to deliver training and support field efforts.
- Availability to work some weekends and travel as needed to accommodate store schedules, events, and special training needs.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail, product training, or customer-facing roles is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the pet industry or working with pet-related products.
- Strong understanding of ZIWI’s product line or a proven ability to learn and teach technical/product information.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Confident presenter with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Proficient in using digital training tools and Microsoft Office; experience with LMS platforms is a plus.
- Willing and able to travel up to 3 weeks per month within the U.S. and Canada.
- Must have a valid U.S. passport.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in education, marketing, business, or a related field preferred.
