Due to relocating our finance operations from Hawke’s Bay to Auckland, we are now seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Parnell based team. This is a key role focused on delivering high-quality financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, ensuring compliance, and supporting the continuous improvement of systems and processes.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for senior management and the board
• Oversee tax compliance across New Zealand and international jurisdictions, working with internal teams and external advisors
• Support both internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely delivery and implementation of recommendations
• Contribute subject matter expertise to complex technical accounting issues,
• Drive the development and maintenance of strong financial controls and compliance frameworks
• Lead and mentor other finance team members, supporting their growth and capability development
• Assist in the ongoing improvement of financial systems, reporting tools, and ERP processes

Key requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or equivalent professional designation
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercially driven FMCG or similar industry
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand tax legislation and international tax compliance
• Demonstrated experience with technical accounting, financial reporting, and audits
• Proven leadership and team development experience
• Proficiency in Excel and financial systems (ERP experience essential; ABEL experience an advantage)
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
